Child Care Financial Help
Maryland Child Care Assistance
The Maryland Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood, administers the Child Care Scholarship (CCS) program – formerly known as the Child Care Subsidy program. Family eligibility for child care scholarships is based on income and family size. Families with income up to 60% of the state median income level are eligible. For a family of three, this is $75,627. For a family of 4, this is $90,033. More information is here.
Child Care legislative Expansions are Making a Difference
The General Assembly and executive policymakers have enacted a series of reforms over the last six years to strengthen Child Care Scholarships by expanding eligibility, improving payment rates, and eliminating copays.
The child care scholarship program now serves more than 30,000 children, more than double the number receiving assistance during FY 2018.
